Soaring

Molly reminds us that before we had to remove our shoes, get patted down, and walk to our departure gates past armed guards, flying was FUN!

Snack

Not sure what I ate during pregnancy but Molly is growing pretty quickly. At her 4 month checkup on Tuesday, she weighed in at 17.1 lbs and was 26 1/2 inches long. For those of you following the bouncing percentile chart at home, yes, she's currently not on the chart. Which I guess means she's bigger than every 4 month old in the world. Here she is enjoying her favorite snack of baby hands.

Four Months

Happy 4 months to Molly! She is celebrating by protesting sleeping. (Hey, who needs sleep when you look this good?)

Daddy Wraps

Steve didn't quite get into the ultimate baby carrier search like I did. He's quite content with the Baby Bjorn borrowed from Kristin and Andy. In his own words, "it's more like gear". Some people don't care for the Bjorn because they say it holds the spine in a position that's too straight at a time when the baby is still pretty bendy. That said, I think the head support is great. And Molly likes having her arms and legs free.

Here he is getting ready to go for a walk with Miss Molly. She gets zipped up inside his jacket.

"Shows feelings"

It is one of the milestones of the 3 - 6 month range and we are confident that Molly has hit this. I think another way to describe this milestone could be "loudly expresses opinions". And though it can be tiring, my hope is that she will continue to have and express opinions far into the future. Keep your baby power, Molly!

Our Polar Cub

Tho she watched from the shore, Molly again earned Polar Cub status this new year day because both her mom and dad took the annual plunge into Lake Washington along with several hundred others. She was an honorary cub last year too by taking the plunge in utero.

Unlike last year the sun did not come out minutes before the appointed hour of submersion. As they say in the business: it was chilly. Instruments agreed the water was about 44 degrees.
