Backyard

I often lament that our backyard is, well, kinda crappy. But Molly was sure having fun the other day. Here she is holding a bunch of flowers that she "found".

Bunny Bounce

We went to the Bunny Bounce at the Zoo today. There's a whole area where toddlers can pick up colored, plastic eggs and put them in their baskets. Parents and Zoo staff periodically dump the eggs back out onto the ground so the toddlers can pick them up again. That's my style of egg hunting. ;)

18 months

Happy 18 month birthday, Molly! We celebrated by going to the toddler storytime at the library, which was a lot of fun. We picked out a few books and cds, then headed home. Pizza for dinner! :)

She's not a talker but she uses a lot of sign. For those who've been wondering, here's a list of her words: mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, bear, dog, bird, fish, flower, milk, water, airplane, more, please, thank you, yes, wash hands, bath, cheese, cookie, apple, car, bus, bicycle, potty, sleep. Plus she's made up signs for hat and outside. She's also putting signs together. Steve's down in Oakland with the foundation and we talked about how he flew a plane down there. So she made the sign for daddy and plane several times. Then she added the sign for sleep, because I'd explained that he would sleep in the other city and then come back tomorrow morning.

It's interesting to me that she isn't really interested in verbal communication but has taken a liking to sign. Maybe it's more fun? Maybe it's just easier to do? Who knows. At least I can understand what she wants. Mostly. ;)

The Frog is Back

For those of you who have missed the frog...

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Thanks to Dianne for the great photo of Molly showing off her new spring hat (thank you, Beth!) on this fine St. Patrick's Day.

Lucky Leaper Fun Run

Molly's second race! She had fun at this one and was VERY happy with her medal and green shirt. Yes, she's sleeping in her green shirt tonight. Here she is running with Leo.

Moses Basket

If the sling is unavailable or in the wash or something, simply cram baby in basket, then proceed with whatever work you need to do (vacuuming or what have you).

Just Browsing

We have multiple small chairs, which Molly likes. After seeing Mixie sitting in this box, however, she decided that the box was a good place to sit, have a snack, and peruse some catalogs.

Sling Baby

Continuing my love of the baby carrier, Molly carries on the tradition. This was her one year ago, and now she's slinging like a pro! :)

Goodbye Brett

We'll miss you.

updated 3/6/08: And on an interesting note, I accidentally knocked my Packer Time clock off the wall the day after Brett retired. It smashed into a million bits.

Sharing

Molly actually likes sharing (on her terms, of course) and is always happy when a pet ("take the catnip toy!!!") or playmate ("take the block!!!") accepts her gifts. She likes to feed her baby doll with a toy bottle and has recently graduated to offering the dolly some of her frozen waffle in the morning. Very nice. Here she is giving Eeyore some Mott's Apple Sauce.
